ENIDE presented HARMONY at the virtual Conference for Unmanned Cargo Aircraft on 2nd November 2021.
What is the UCA conference?
The Unmanned Cargo Aircraft (UCA) Conference is an annual event promoted by the Platform for Unmanned Cargo Aircraft (PUCA) to support the development and deployment of drone deliveries.
The conference brings together manufacturers, logistic industry, operators, knowledge institutes, consultants, shippers and governmental organizations active in the field of unmanned cargo aircraft / drone delivery.
Why did HARMONY participate?
Unmanned Cargo Aircraft (UCA) or drone delivery offers the potential to transport loads of 1 kg to 10 tons or more over both short (last mile, Urban Air Mobility) and long distances, either on routes that are unfeasible / uneconomical for other modes of transport or that offer new business opportunities.
For this reason, Vicent Pastor from ENIDE presented the demonstration of drone deliveries currently ongoing in Trikala, Greece as part of the local HARMONY’s activities promoting urban and regional air mobility. He also gave an overview of the other project demonstrations of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) and Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV) planned in 2022, where top-tier industrial companies are involved, such as Airbus, Arrival, and GRIFF Aviation are involved.
HARMONY intends to set a benchmark for public-private cooperation in Spatial and Transport planning capable to lead a sustainable transition to a low-carbon new mobility era in European metropolitan areas.
