E-Trikala presented the HARMONY drone demonstration in Trikala, Greece at the 8th International Physical Internet Conference on 16th June 2021. They also presented the whole project during the IPIC virtual exhibition. HARMONY took part in the Special Interest Session 35 which covered the topic of “Urban Logistics Innovative Solutions”.
What is IPIC 2021?
The 8th International Physical Internet Conference was titled “Towards a smart hyperconnected era of efficient and sustainable logistics, supply chains and transportation” and took place on 15 and 16 June 2021.
The IPIC Conference originates from the Physical Internet Initiative and represents an open forum for researchers, industry representatives, government officials and citizens to explore, discuss, and introduce disruptive concepts, methodologies, projects, technological advancements, start-up initiatives, for current and future Physical Internet implementation. The conference topics range from Logistics Nodes, to Logistics Networks, System of Logistic Networks, Access and Adoption, Governance, making this event a unique opportunity to learn, network and discuss the latest initiatives and challenges about interconnected logistics.
Why did HARMONY participate?
Since HARMONY is promoting and testing disruptive urban and regional logistics solutions, the project participated in Stream 7: “Urban Logistics and Distribution Networks”. More specifically, the Municipality of Trikala in Greece presented their drone demonstration with HARMONY during Session 35 “Urban Logistics Innovative Solutions”, where they also joined a wider panel discussion with several experts in the field.
They also welcomed dedicated meetings with IPIC participants at the virtual exhibition throughout the conference.
